The South Wilton Methodist church was built on Route 50 in 1854 and served the community for more than 100 years. The congregation combined with Wilton and Gurn Spring churches to form the Trinity Methodist Church, on Ballard Road.
Although the building no longer serves as a church, many older citizens have good memories of activities such as Christmas parties and programs. This building is a great example of adaptive use of an historic building. The front roof is still the distinguishing part of the original design.
Look for it the next time you pass by. It’s just across from the road from the South Wilton Cemetery on Route 50.
